Accessibility Statement

SpruceSuite is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

Conformance Status

SpruceSuite is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to achieve full conformance.

Accessibility Features

Keyboard Navigation

Full keyboard navigation throughout the application. All interactive elements are reachable and operable with Tab, Enter, Space, and arrow keys.

Screen Reader Support

Comprehensive ARIA labels, landmarks, and live regions. Tested with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows).

Reduced Motion

Respects the prefers-reduced-motion media query. All animations are suppressed or simplified when this preference is enabled.

Skip to Content

Skip navigation links on every page allow keyboard users to bypass the header and jump directly to main content.

Focus Management

Focus trapping in modals and dialogs prevents keyboard users from accidentally tabbing into background content. Focus is restored on close.

Color Contrast

Our OKLCH color palette is designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios in both light and dark themes. Critical UI elements exceed 4.5:1 contrast.

Responsive Text

Text scales properly with browser zoom up to 200%. No content is clipped or hidden when users increase their default font size.

Semantic HTML

Proper heading hierarchy (h1-h6), landmark regions (nav, main, footer), and form labels throughout. No div-soup — structure conveys meaning.

Known Limitations

The interactive product demo may have limited screen reader support for complex hover-based animations and hotspot navigation.
The kennel board's drag-and-drop interface currently requires mouse interaction. A keyboard-accessible alternative is planned for Q2 2026.
Some third-party embedded content (for example, payment processing iframes from Stripe) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.

Assessment Approach

SpruceSuite assesses the accessibility of its platform through the following methods:

Self-assessment: Internal review of all pages and interactive components against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria.
Automated testing: Axe-core accessibility scanner integrated into our CI pipeline to catch regressions.
Manual testing: Regular keyboard-only and screen reader walkthroughs using VoiceOver and NVDA.
